Pols Reflection

Updated: Dec 2, 2019

I began this class hoping to have a greater understanding of the political system that runs the American gov’t, I never really had much interest in the gov't or the policies that didn't directly affect me, know I have taken a greater interest in politics not only America but on a global scale. I enjoyed the layout of the class, I did, however, want maybe more of an understanding of where I can get my information or how I can have a greater influence on the policies put in place by Congress. My favorite part of this class was the discussions, I enjoyed hearing the opposing ideas of others and discussing the better options of the issues.

Currently, I watch John Oliver and Trevor Noah for light-hearted politics but turn to BBC, CNN, Fox News, Euronews, Radio Free Asia, and Philip Defranco a youtube news reporter. I started following in part to this class and my friend's recommendations. This class has given me a better understanding of politics in the way of not jumping to conclusions but dissecting the issue and weighing the sides of the issues and coming up with my preferred outcome, however I have accepted that my wants may not be best, however I am open to a container proposal that is better than the previous one I stated. This is what this class has done for me, in a nutshell, I enjoy politics and studying the gov't and current affairs affecting the world.
