Reflection

This class has given me a greater understanding of climate change and my impact day to day on the environment. The issue I always had with climate change was understanding the systems and how they work and how human involvement has influenced the changes. I feel more confident in discussing the subject of climate change and dismantling the common misinformation that some may feel towards this case and the harm people are doing. Throughout this class, I have believed that the essential part of communicating the gravitas of climate change is the word choice. Reports about climate change originate from scientist and this leads to a lot of the valuable information and facts getting lost on people. I feel that to convey the urgency of climate change, we must simplify, or "dumb down," the information so it's easier for society to understand. I also feel that it would be useful to show the effects of climate change and how it'll affect those in power because if you can convince Congress that their life will be affected they will be more willing to take charge and make a change. Overall this class has given me a greater appreciation of my planet and I plan to work at lessening my pollution output and change my contribution to worsening the climate.
